Mealtime.

Mealtime is a fun time for our family (usually).  One of the many blessings of homeschooling is that the girls can take their time (not have to rush out the door in the morning)  and eat good-for-their-body food (most of the time) 3 times/day everyday. :)

Usually during mealtime, they are stuffing their little faces like this:

And talking and giggling like this:

And sometimes making silly faces like this:

Majority of the time, they are doing all three at the same time. ;)

New Year.

There is no better way to welcome the new year with great friends, great food and great conversations!!

We had a wonderful... sushi-making, acorn-picking, mariokart-racing, birdhouse-coloring, bone-fetching, chocolate-dipping, stair-climbing, photo-taking, new year-celebrating weekend!! :)

Baking..

I definitely wouldn't call myself a "baker"... especially with the two big sisters' egg allergies, it's something we do on a special occasion.. But there has been a lot of baking/cookie decorating going on recently being that it's Christmas time! :)

We also had our good friends/neighbors come over for a small cookie decorating party...

My three year-old's masterpiece...

My five year-old's masterpiece...

We have also been making some yummy scones with a recipe I got from a friend.

We will probably take a break from cookies and baked goods for a while after Christmas. ;)

Serious Business.

Once in blue moon I will cut a watermelon in half, give the girls a spoon and say "dig in"!  This is how Bryant remembers eating watermelon when he was young... I tried it once and the girls loved it!  It's actually a great way to keep them occupied.. they will sit there for a good 20 minutes until all the watermelon is gone!

I mean, the girls concentrate so hard... and they usually don't speak a word...

They love the digging...

They love that they can eat however much they want...

It's serious business.
(Okay, she's being a little silly here ;D)
